- CATO is a minimal deck played by a [0/0/20] token.
- When CATO draws a card, it plays it as soon as possible.
- If an effect forces CATO to draw, it will play the cards in its hand as soon as possible in order of ascending CMC.
- If CATO must draw and has no library, its graveyard will be shuffled for use as a new one.
- Players win by dropping CATO to 0 HP.
- Equipment, Enchantments, and ‘You’ effects played by CATO will always target CATO.
- If CATO plays ‘Fight’ spells, they will target CATO and a creature of the Players’ choice on the side with the Aggro Emblem.
- When a player attacks something on CATO’s side, they get the Aggro Emblem.
- Anything CATO plays that requires an enemy target will hit whomever has the Aggro Emblem or something on their side; If nobody has attacked, the target will be random.
- If CATO spawns tokens, they will attack the Player with the Aggro Emblem if able.
- If CATO is forced to make any other choice, the player controlling the effect chooses for it.
- Only damage dealt to CATO and Player Tokens above their current toughness is deducted from their HP.
- If a CATO would leave the battlefield for any reason, it doesn’t, and instead the player responsible may choose and destroy one of the permanents on that field. You must choose between dealing damage or destroying a permanent.
- Players have a token to represent themselves. It can be targeted normally as a player, or it can be equipped or enchanted as a creature to give players a power/toughness of their own. While Player Tokens MAY NOT attack normally, they MUST be selected as a blocker if they are who CATO is attacking.
- Players may have attacks they control target CATO’s permanents instead of CATO itself. Those objects are treated as having a toughness equal to [CMC+Equip Cost]. When attacked, CATO will still defend itself, resulting in an attack against CATO’s Power and the Target’s Toughness.
- A player or creature may attempt to dodge, while players may also attempt to attack directly, using a Planar Die or d6.
- A roll succeeds on a [Planar/Chaos] or [1/6].
- A dodge negates the attack or spell’s effects on whatever dodged it.
- An attack deals 1 Damage or the Player’s Power, whichever is greater, as though the Player Token were attacking normally; This means the Token will be tapped, and that it will trigger effects such as [Sword of the Animist], as well as taking damage as CATO defends itself. If the attack roll fails, it did not happen, and nothing triggers.
- If the token can be untapped, the player may attempt another attack if it can be paid for.
- Players may pay for additional rolls as normal. Creatures only get one free roll on and between their controller’s turns.
- Roll costs for players chain then reset for each attempt - IE, if a player first uses three rolls to dodge a spell [Free+1+2] they will spend 2 mana; Later in the same turn, they can then attempt to dodge an attack, which at three rolls would now cost 6 mana [1+2+3].
- Free Rolls do not restore until their controller’s next turn.
- CATO does not dodge.
- Players take their turns simultaneously and may block for each other.
